What is the Service Partner Program?
The Service Partner Program is designed for agencies, consultancies, and systems integrators looking to provide expertise that helps merchants succeed on Shopify. This program is open to all partners that meet the performance requirements and will be placed into one of five tiers: Registered, Select, Plus, Premier, and Platinum.

How Service Partners earn with Shopify

Shopify is expanding how Service Partners earn, recognizing their vital role in merchant growth. From July 1, 2025, partners can earn revenue share on both recurring subscription fees and variable platform fees. This directly links their earnings to merchant success.
This means partners are not just rewarded for bringing merchants to Shopify—they now benefit as they scale and succeed.

Development stores
When Service Partners create and transfer a new development store to a merchant, they earn a 20% revenue share on billed monthly platform fees. This applies as long as the merchant remains on the platform and the partner remains a Shopify Partner. The Partner’s revenue share is calculated using whichever is higher: the merchant’s base or variable platform fee.
Sales referrals
When partners submit a qualified referral and work with Shopify Sales to sell either Plus or Enterprise plans, partners will receive a one-time incentive of $2,500 for contract signature and deal closure.
Launch support
When partners launch a new merchant through a qualified Shopify Sales opportunity (Plus and Enterprise plans), partners will earn a 15% revenue share on monthly billed platform fees. The Partner’s revenue share is calculated using whichever is higher: the merchant’s base or variable platform fee.

What is the Certified Technology Partner Program?

The Certified Technology Partner Program is tailored for independent software vendors (ISV), application developers (Apps), enterprise resource planning (ERP) providers, and global technology companies looking to both integrate solutions with Shopify and go-to-market with Shopify.
The Shopify App Store continues to be the best place for Shopify app developers to showcase their solutions to millions of entrepreneurs around the world. In addition, app developers can earn App Store and enablement benefits by achieving Built for Shopify status, Shopify’s quality standard for apps.

Partners develop public apps and monetize them through sales on the App Store, typically via one-time purchase fees, usage-based fees, or recurring subscriptions. Partners earn 100% of the first $1 million USD in annual gross app revenue earned through the Shopify App Store. After the first $1 million, partners earn 85% of the revenue.
Example: $2 million USD in annual gross app revenue through the Shopify App Store earns the Technology Partner $1,850,000 USD.
Enterprise solutions
Enterprise Technology Partners develop and sell solutions or integrations through the App Store to larger or enterprise-level merchants, potentially with custom licensing or service agreements.
Shopify Theme Store
Partners developing themes can sell them on the Theme Store, as a one-time purchase. Partners earn 85% of total revenue.
